query: how do you get rid of these intrusive thoughts? It has been an issue of mine for over a year now. I have moved forward from the breakup already but the thoughts keep haunting me from time to time.
context: cheating
issue: intrusive thoughts that penetrate my mind occasionally during an entire day. Usually comprising of visual images of the ex person and a frustrating feeling of resentment of him and the person he cheated on me with.
I want to ask if someone is also suffering the same. I am probably on a limerent episode now. Still, even though I always remind myself that he cheated and that I must not let the thought of him with someone else torture my mind, it's difficult to do so especially since this was my first time getting cheated on.
