Anyone here who has attended an Annual Stockholders' Meeting virtually? Can you share your experience of attending stockholder's meeting virtually, if there were anything memorable, or if it is worth attending? As someone who's used to attending a business conference annually, I really miss these kinds of events and thinks this is the next best thing I could do, for now.
From what I read so far, ASMs used to be done in hotels, with food and socials. During Covid, there was one who said that food vouchers where given to virtual attendees.
How does one get invited? Is it communicated by broker through email, or do I have to actively reach out each company that I own a stock of as of record date? I heard for COL, they sent out emails for those interested in attending AREIT's ASM, but FMS has not given me any notice yet. If I'll be the one reaching out to AREIT, how do I get a brokers' certification of shares?
I also noticed that all current stocks I own have upcoming ASMs this April/May, is this usually the time when all ASMs are held? Or are there companies that have their ASMs in the latter part of the year (maybe based on their respective fiscal years)?
