Earlier this week, I was able to sell SGP (breakeven) and KEEPR (50% gain) and decided to review the previous IPO/FOOs I participated and how they performed.
Stock | Realized P/L | Days until Sold |
---|---|---|
SGP | 0 | 1153 |
KEEPR | 50% | 1141 |
REDC | 50% | 171 |
FCG | 18% | 2 |
SPNEC | 50% | 26 |
CNVRG | 50% | 284 |
I also still have the following in my portfolio:
Stock | Unrealized P/L |
---|---|
XG | 40% |
CREC | 28% |
ALTER | -18% |
ASLAG | -46% |
I allocated a fixed amount of money for all, so I am currently at net profit. The realized gains I made through IPO/FOO are just at par with what I made from buying then selling in the market. It does not take into account the dividends I received, though it was mainly SGP and KEEPR that gave modest divs.
I also participated in all REIT IPOs, but my long-term plan is to just keep them and harvest just the dividends. But even if I include them in the picture, I'm still in the green.
Stock | Unrealized P/L |
---|---|
AREIT | 49% |
DDMPR | -53% |
FILRT | -58% |
RCR | -9% |
MREIT | -18% |
CREIT | 20% |
VREIT | 3% |
PREIT | 45% |
As you might have noticed, I did not participate in every IPO/FOO event. One should not get FOMO'd easily, and still do their due diligence before investing their hard-earned money.
One should also exercise patience. and stick to the plan. I invested for the long term, but there were times when I felt I should cut loss already. As an example, I was at one point down 33% with KEEPR, -20% with CNVRG but good thing I still kept them.
Of course, there should also be a plan B in case the original plan won't work anymore. In this case, I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep SGP or makalabas lang ng buhay. Time will tell if I made the right decision to sell at breakeven, as it now currently down 10% from its IPO price. Or maybe I could reenter at a lower price, we'll see.
How about you, what's your experience with IPOs?
