There’s some moves to be made for the Phillies this trade deadline. Even though it’s pretty far away, I’m worried about Dombrowski’s history of trading key prospects for win now guys.
- It seems like Justin Crawford will not be included in any trade. He seems untouchable
- Painter’s TJ is a cause for concern but his change up is crazy.
- Aidan Miller is tearing it up in High-A. Looks like a future top-10 prospect and a replacement for Bohm at 3rd, even though that’s very far in the future.
- Mick Abel and Griff McGarry. I think these two are should be the most likely to be traded. They are going to be blocked by Painter, and the rest of the Phillies rotation. As I don’t see Suarez being allowed to walk after the season he’s having.
Dombrowski isn’t known for his drafting but the last few seem like hits, as well as his foreign free agent signings.
I don’t think we should blow up the farm for Robert, as he’s injury prone and batting .190. It’d be our biggest trade since Realmuto trade, when we gave up Sixto Sanchez (#8 Overall prospect). But Realmuto was much healthier and probably the 2nd best catcher in baseball and had no injury issues and was 27. Robert is 26 and plays a premium position like J.T. What do y’all think?
Painter is untouchable. Miller, almost untouchable. The rest, very touchable. If you can get Tucker, you do it.
