By a very narrow margin, it seems that this community WANTS the ability to submit picture posts.

We had 8 "yes" votes from users identifying as females.

We had 32 "yes votes from users identifying as male.

Zero yes votes from those who identify as neither.

And a total of 38 "no" votes.

Pictures win, 40-38. A truly divisive issue.

In hind site, I wish I would have also broken up the "no" option by gender just to get a better snapshot of the ratio of this sub. The consensus is pretty clear- women who are active on here tend to lurk, I figured that giving them a poll option was a nice anonymous way to capture their numbers without forcing them to out themselves. I'm not sure why I didn't think to do the same with the "no" but anyway. I'm going to abide by the results of this poll and bring back the ability to post pictures.

There doesn't seem to be a way to automatically block NSFW pictures and I'm not interested spending my modding time knee deep in approving dick pics so I'm sorry to say that dick pics are about to come back in force.

In addition to disallowing pic posts (which we will now reverse on) I have also set up an automod that flags any post from an account less than 3 days old. The bot is also looking for a minimum of 15 post karma and I believe 1 point in comment karma. I've been fielding some complaints about this and I've been approving posts and users on a case by case basis.

I will not be adjusting those settings as it has GREATLY reduced the amount of spam on here. It takes me far less time to approve the people who take the time to message me than it did for me to remove all the spam posts and ban the accounts that were posting them. For example, in a one week period I removed somewhere around 150 posts. Since I've setup the automod, I've had to approve less than 10 posts.

The only downside is that I am not often active during the evenings or weekends, so some of you may have to wait for your posts to be approved- or just go out there and get yourself some karma, I don't know.
