Visiting in November: what part of town to stay in?

Post Body

So I will be spending the weekend in November with a few friends (mid to late 30’s) and didn’t book a place to stay yet. I’m looking for your input on some fun areas to stay.

Mindset: 100% hitting a flyers game (because hockey is awesome), but otherwise no plans.

Looking for hotspots for bars/nightlife, but also places you can make new friends quickly or start random conversations. Not opposed to brewery district areas or trendy spots either. I know there is great food probably everywhere, but that’s not the focus here. Preferably a walkable area for the most part (at least to finish the night), but will likely Uber/Lyft/taxi as well.

Appreciate any guidance as it’s been a while since I have been in Philly last.

Side note: I distinctively remember hitting up an Amish BBQ place in the reading market that was killer. Is it still there?
