I was worried about my basement flooding (old construction that used to be two homes until the 1960s), and, would you believe it, it happened overnight. Everything's flooded downstairs. It was enough to slosh around in this morning, so I imagine it's going to end up being 1.5-2 inches by tonight.
Does anyone have tips for how to deal with this, and maybe contractors I can get in touch with? I think I have a humidifier in the basement. I know I definitely have a wet/dry shop vac.
Thanks! My dad's been fixing the basement up in his spare time, but I think it's time I put some money towards hiring a professional. We're past the point of hobby renovating.
EDIT: Thank you for all the advice! I ended up getting a utility pump, which I used with my dad's shop vac. I took out a big chunk of the water!
