Long Post Ahead!

Happy New Year Filipinos of Reddit!

I am looking for 30 Participants for an Online FGD for our action research entitled "Addressing Stigma and Its Impact on Social Engagement: Exploring Multichotomous Political Preferences in the Diverse Population of the National Capital Region".

With the rise of political awareness especially among the youth, and the ease of information aided by social media, many have adapted to becoming more politically inclined, and have held numerous and divided opinions regarding the current political landscape. It is easy to assume opposition when one disagrees with your point of view, and easier to let their political beliefs or opinions assume their character. While political alignment can be dictated by one's morals and values, it might not be the case the other way around. Their political beliefs or opinions must not be the basis of their character traits, personalities, morals and values, and especially how they are treated. There is more to a person than who or what their political choice is; more to them than what the public paints them as. Albeit that we are "Political Animals", as stated by Aristotle, the political self is only one of many aspects that make up a person. This study aims to find out just that: whether political preferences define one's personality, and how that impacts social interactions.

Essentially, I want to hear from any one of you your opinion on the relationship of political preferences and one's personality and its impact on social engagement. Do you believe that an individual's political choice will automatically define who they are? Do you think that it is justified to have people be criticized for what they believe in? Especially in a free and democratic country? And do you think someone should be treated differently based on their political alignment?

If you are interested in being involved in this discussion, qualifications are as follows:

  • 18 Years Old and Above
  • Registered Voter
  • Preferably within NCR (Outside is allowed)

Next, answer the Google Forms linked below. This secures your participation in the study. Everything inputted is confidential and will primarily be used for descriptive statistics only, unless specified otherwise. Note that your participation is fully voluntary, so I apologize if you are expecting a reward afterwards. I will do my best to coordinate with all of you and I will greatly appreciate your willingness and cooperation prior.

Thank you so much for reading through this lengthy post! I hope I have piqued your interest and encouraged you to be involved in this relevant topic. If you have any clarifications or concerns, feel free to DM me through here. Once again, thank you, Merry Christmas, and an advance Happy New Year!
