So I just emailed a manager for a company that rarely hires for a chance to be hired

I was eyeing on this company for a very long time: a power generation plant very near in my home. High salary, good working environment, friendly bosses (as I have heard), shuttle services, good benefits the whole 9 yards. The only downside is the long working hours but hey, compared to the communte I do at my current work vs a company with its own bus and drops off employees near my home, at least thesame hours spent outside my home is "paid" hours. Plus, I don't have to live on a bed spacer as I work far away.

But that power generation plant is sooo goood that ALMOST NOBODY RESIGNS, thus the lack of job opportunities for outsiders like me.

So I did an almost desperate move on directly emailing an AVP of one of their deparments. I stated clearly that I am emailing to he connected with him IN CASE they have hiring in the future. I also asked him if he wants to consult me with something related to my skills, he may do so for free!!!

Was is a desperate move?
