Hi, I am a marketing professional who used to work in advertising agencies for most of my career. As such, I've never been subject to strict dress codes.
I previously had brightly colored hair and now I have 2 visible tattoos on my arm. I am about to jump to client side in the finance industry. Not my first experience, however my previous set up was entirely remote due to the pandemic and it was in the tech industry. Nonetheless, I will be part of the marketing team, specifically their in-house creative team which is new.
I've already signed the JO last week and currently in the process of completing my pre-employment reqs---however I've just been warned by someone close (they have been in banking for a while now) that they know of someone who didn't end up getting hired recently after their medical exam because of their visible tattoos. Of course, that wasn't the stated reason but it was the only reason they could think of, as said applicant passed all the physical exams. My medical exam is scheduled tomorrow. 😳
This is making me very anxious because I really need to secure this job. Hope anyone could share their insights, thank you!
