Heyyy question haha. I've been in an individual contributor IT role for around 5yrs na. Tito na so gusto ko sana makabalik sa dayshift work setup so I've been exploring for more than a month na. And tbh, nagpapataas din ng sahod dahil sa inflation at pinapaaral. Deeply disappointed sa naging salary appraisal this year - ni hindi man lang nagkeep up sa inflation ang max increase haha.
Sa current work, offshored but vendor-employee ako at permanent wfh. May benefits naman kaso unreliable ang mgmt - hindi clear ang career path, medyo malabo about benefits at salary appraisal, etc. I've been exploring for more than a month na.
I got an offer pero vendor employee role pa rin: Full on-site where minimum benefits lang ang provided at buong salary ay basic, i.e., taxable. Almost a half more ang gross salary, pero ang net is around only a fifth of my current total net.
I rejected it thinking na 'yung makukuha ko ay baka magastos ko lang sa pamasahe at pagkain sa labas. Tama ba ako ng ginawa?
Iniisip ko kasi with more patience, baka I can get an offer naman sa company where magiging direct or organic hire ulit ako.
Siguro question ko ay, how much ba dapat ang minimum salary asking price? May 2 ongoing applications din ako na salary offer stage na but I feeI I've also undervalued myself, especially sa initial interview when I did not know better.
Para lang may point of comparison, mukhang pwede naman na 'yung net increase sa offer sa akin. Pero magagastos nga lang sya onsite.
Tbh medyo mahirap magdemand in my position kasi parang ang taas na? Deserve ko ba 'yun? Haha. Parang deserve ko naman lol pero for someone na naligaw lang sa IT, who's faking it all the time para lang makasurvive, ang hirap din majustify sa sarili ko minsan 'yung iniisip kong value ko. All this time I've been in industries with deep learning curves pero wala talagang specialized skills akong na-gain. So wala akong certifications or whatnot na pwedeng ilagay sa resume. Ganda lang (?) loljk.
