We had a patient approach the pharmacy yesterday and inquire about vision abnormalities and one-sided pupil dilation whilst on an SSRI. Both pharmacists on duty said vision changes can happen, but are rare and that they’d never heard of pupil dilation of any kind while on an SSRI. I didn’t say anything bc I’m the technician, but I found it funny bc my sister was just freaking out about one-sided pupil dilation after starting sertraline. My NP friend has also never heard of pupil changes with SSRIs. Is this a side effect that is so rare that it flies under the radar even in the medical community? Have you heard of it?
