Hi, I'm currently a 3rd year student and I just mapped out the units I still need to take and it looks like I may need to start working to afford the tuition. So basically, I kinda flunked my first sem under online learning. It was a sem full of INC and dropped subject. I eventually learned how to adapt, although I needed to take 12 units for the following sem (2nd Sem AY 2020-2021), and 15 units for this last sem (1st Sem AY 2021-2022). For this sem (2nd Sem AY 2021-2022), I got 18 units.
Under the Free Tuition Law, I still have 2 semesters remaining to avail free tuition. However, since I underloaded twice and basically flunked a whole sem, I am now severely left behind and may need to start working to cover the tuition for the remaining sems. My parents want me to start working as soon as possible, so might as well start before graduating right?
So, I plan to start working part-time/freelance after my 4th year 2nd Sem (Ay 2022-2023). However, I'm confused by how I'll be tackling my thesis. Do you normally take it during the last sem and submit it within the sem? How about the other subjects you still need to take? And if you've taken all the other subjects and defended the thesis, are you qualified for graduation?
Sorry for the rambling, I'm just really anxious about my future, and getting a few clarifications would really help out. Thank you!
