I am an alumnus - and I headed some steering committees in the org here and there, not putting this as a brag but, I want to have people understand that event planning and project management are hard to balance with acads, self, socials, relations, sanity, etc - but, it pains me to see leaders of this organization that do not have a sense of accountability.
We know it was for ticket count.
We know you guys got insensitive. I hope you guys just admit that. Treat it as a mistake that you can hold over as a learning moment for the organization next time around. It's not the end of the world if you admit that capitalism can get to you. Malungkot pero, mararanasan niyo din iyan once kumita kayo ng pera. Advocacy becomes too convoluted with survival that, passion dies no matter how much you try to live life properly. Hindi ko sinabing mukha kayong pera, or sakim kayo sa pera, pero sana matuto kayong maging totoo sa mga constituents niyo. Sana hindi parating privileged ang mindset.
You know corruption starts that way, right?
Wag niyo na dalhin sa real world, mas maraming tao lang mahihirapan.
Never taint your passion for leading with the material riches of this earth. But, if you do and you do not like it.
Admit your imperfection and be a better person after.
Be a better person not for this organization lang, but for everyone na makakatrabaho niyo.
If you like it, then money turns you evil. Reevaluate your principles and think of the people you represent. Or just, think of Honor and Excellence.
You're better than this.
