I live in San Antonio. I keep seeing Austin greeneries/nurseries openly advertising lophs for sale? It’s to the point of me getting ads all the way from Austin once a week about Lophophora for sale. It’s a bit concerning because some members of the San Antonio Cactus Society have noticed they don’t care where they are sourced from (often Asia, but if business is booming I don’t see them shying away from other sources). I doubt they are all sure of the exact variety. It’s a bit discomforting because it doesn’t come off as them genuinely loving cactus. It comes off as them trying to make a profit. It feels weird. I could see them selling poached stuff the way they are aggressively advertising across TX. They even make fake FB ads saying they are in San Antonio only to direct me to drive to Austin. Anyone noticed it? How can they keep doing it? Is it good for the community?
