So, I commented about this on another thread in this sub, and it got enough likes for me to post the full story here.

So my First Roommate experience was right out of Boot Camp, at NNPTC in Charleston, SC. I was with a guy who we'll call Skylar. Two full size beds in a single room with a shared head/bathroom between two bedrooms. So, 4 people to a shower. We each had our own Closet, desk, and cabinet over the sink, with each pair of roommates sharing a minifridge.

Skylar and I met up a few days before our training officially started. He arrived a few hours before me, and for the most part, it was all fine. I had a PS2(Which since this happened in 2002-2003, they were still new) and he had a computer. we could use the other's so long as we asked first. The only really annoying part was that he talked to his Fiancé on his cell phone so loud, that even the guys in the adjoining room could hear her, without it being on speaker.

Then Girl scout cookie season came around.

I love Thin Mints. They are amazing, and I have to exercise extreme levels of self control to not buy out entire tables when they are set up.

I bought 3 boxes, and brought them back to the room, putting 2 in the freezer shelf, stacked neatly so they took up less than half the room, and one in the door of the fridge. Side note, if you have never tried them cold, it is highly recommended that you do.

I then went to class, and did my study sessions and came home.

Skylar was eating a sleeve of Thin Mints.

At first, I just thought, 'Oh, he got some too. cool.' And made a comment along the lines of "Good stuff right?" as I open the door, and reach for.......

.......Empty Space?

Thinking it is odd, I opened the lid tot eh Freezer shelf to see if I put them all in the Freezer by accident.

1 sleeve.

I bought 3 boxes, and in less than 5 hours, they were reduced to 1 sleeve.

I asked Skylar about it, and he said, "Anything in the fridge is fair game!"

This was not a rule we had discussed. I asked him to pay me back for the cookies.

"No way, Fair game is Fair game, no paybacks."

I told him that I expected him to replace them.

"Good luck with that."

Fuming, I put the last surviving sleeve into my lockable desk drawer, and started my evening routine. I wasn't in any mood to enjoy those delicious treats at that point.

Fast forward a few weeks, and Skylar has bought 2 boxes of thin Mints, and stored them in the minifridge. I grab a sleeve, and start eating.

Skylar and one of his buddies comes in, and Skylar starts screaming at me. I smirked. "In the fridge is fair game." He begins going off at the top of his lungs as I munch away.

He tried to claim that his food is exempt from that rule, and that only my food is fair game.

A few weeks later, I had the chance to move into a single room set up, still 2 rooms to a shower, but I'm by myself and have the whole fridge alone.

But not before I got some revenge.

Remember that Skylar had a computer?

I looked up a ton of porn and hentai on his computer, with no browser blocker, so he kept getting pop ups. It slogged his computer down, and drove him crazy.

Remember that Skylar had a Fiancé?

She moved to Charleston, and since she wasn't military or married, she couldn't live on base, so she worked 40 hours as a waitress to get a small apartment she could rent. Skylar moved in about 2 weeks after I got my own barracks room.

I found out through a mutual friend, that he treated her much the same way, and went so far as to call her 'Woman' instead of by her name. I also found out that she had been online when some porn pop-ups did their thing, and she was LIVID.

The porn was the final straw before she broke up with him and moved back to New York City, where they were both from. He had to move back onto base, and even though I never spoke to him again, I heard that he was very unhappy being dumped by his high school sweetheart.
