Iām still pretty new to this - I do boarding in my home. This weekend I have 3 dogsā¦2 are already here and the 3rd will come tomorrow.
Dog 1 is very chill. Low energy for the most part. Dog 1 was introduced to dog 3 a couple days ago. They seemed fine together.
Dog 3 I boarded before. He was a bit aggressive with the others but they were also aggressive with himā¦so I figured he was just responding in kind. He didnāt seem to start the fights if that makes sense.
Dog 2 is new to me. I should have done a meet and greet but I didnāt (it was a last minute booking). Pit bull about 1 year old.
Dog 1 and dog 2 are having some issues. Dog 2 is being aggressive. They seem fine when itās just them but when they are both near me things get heated.
Dog 2 gets crated when Iām not home and also to sleep. So Iām not too worried. But this situation is stressing me and Dog 1 out. And dog 2 is really strong and pulls on her leash. Sheās a lot to handle despite being a smallish pit bull
And of course dog 3 comes tomorrow. And now Iām worried heās going to get aggressive with dog 2 or vice versa.
I have fail safe measures in placeā¦I can keep them in separate rooms if needed. But thatās not exactly the experience I want to give.
Soā¦any advice other than āalways do a meet and greetā and ādonāt have 3 dogs in your home at once that havenāt all met before?ā Iām still learning.
Edited to add: - dog 3 is just with me for about 24 hours. Not two days as I thought. So this will be a short situations - dog 3 can play rough if prompted so he and dog 2 are playing a lot (a bit rougher than I want but ok). And they are leaving dog 1 along for the most part
Still learning from this and very glad dog 2 has a crate otherwise I prob wouldnāt leave the house
