They let the dog poop on my lawn but they pick it up ...
Post Body

So yeah, someone on my street walks his dog and sometimes I see them picking up poop from his dog on my lawn ... i hate dogs, but I don't wanna seem like a crazy person.

What would you do in my situation ?

The first time I saw the dog do this I banged on my window and signed him WTF and he picked it up and left and it made me feel bad a bit but isnt it weird

It just seems weird to let the dog even do this.

For more context, I'm not super into lawn care, its grass and I cut it sometimes but I don't really use it

Hate to break it to you, but if someone is walking a dog down a street or sidewalk, unless the dog is going waaaaay off the path - it's public easement. It might be your yard - but legally speaking anyone can use a section of your yard so-far offset from the centerline of the roadway. Usually about as far back as any road signage, utility poles, or mailboxes are placed are within the easement.

Don't believe me? Call your county surveyor.

Having a child is a choice. It doesn't entitle you to just allow your child to do whatever.

This case is simple, don't have your child using the bathroom in someone else's house. The fact that this even needs to be said is absolutely ridiculous!

That's about how ridiculous you sound.

When nature calls - whether it's a dog on a walk or a kid in Walmart - that needs to be answered.

You can either be the parent who lets your kid cop a squat in the aisle then walks away (happens alllllll the time) or you can be the one to use proper facilities and clean it up - just as a dog owner can pick it up in accordance with the laws in pretty much every city that has such laws.

So the dog - which gets picked up- is an issue, but the rabbit, squirrel, possum, coyote, fox, and 500 birds they're fine because they're not dogs?

Because the sub is pet free - it's just a bunch of antisocial Karen's who think that because they can't afford the time and care for a pet that nobody else should either, and if you do it should be kept indoors and never within their sight.

As a dog owner it's one of those things you really don't have much control over.

Are you a parent? Do/did you control when your toddler was going to have to poop? Ok, same thing. Sometimes when you're on a walk, Fido has to answer nature's call - just like sometimes little Johnny has to when you're at the grocery store.

As long as they're being respectful and cleaning it up, I don't see that it should be an issue. Birds, squirrels, raccoons, opossums, mice, rats, and any host of other things are dropping their gifts in your yard anyway - at least the dogs gets picked up
