I have pets, I love my pets, I try to take care of my pets the best I can. I think dogs are cool animals, cats are cool animals, hell even "weird" pets like snakes are cool. however what I don't find cool is how some owners treat their animals.
at this point I genuinely think people are getting pets as an accessory or toy instead of a proper companion. I've seen my ex friends squeeze their toy poodle super hard and ignore how it tries to get away or if it makes a noise that shows it's uncomfortable. I watch people dress up their dogs and laugh their ass off when the dog is miserable. there's videos of people who don't have a leash on their dogs and let them run up to another dog whose owner is practically screaming "AGGRESSIVE DOG" who's wearing a muzzle then they get mad when the owner of the aggressive dog kicks their dog away to protect the other dog. there are owners who condone awful behavior and do nothing to curb it. I see people let their aggressive dog off leash in a suburban neighborhood that has families and other calmer dogs. I see parents let their younger kids mishandle their dogs then get mad when the dog is obviously uncomfortable.
I have no problem with pets at all, I do think that these animals deserve to be treated decently though. so many owners are just terrible to their pets, I feel so bad for them because they can't do anything except bite and growl when they feel unsafe. then when they bite and growl due to humans making them feel bad, the said humans label them as a bad dog.
