I was hired at petco for an aquatic specialist. I was doing wonderful work in my department. I suddenly got very ill and had to take medical leave. Upon my return I was put on cash register to “get reacquainted” the next several days I was still on cash register. I found out on our schedule I would continue being cash register for the unforeseeable future and or closing. When I was hired I was hired as an aquatic specialist and told I’d open or mid. Closing and being on register was not agreed upon. Since the schedule would not be changed and they had no idea how long this would continue I quit. If I wanted to be a cashier or work closing hours I would have applied for that or offered those hours. They put me in this situation without communication prior. Am I the asshole?
