Wanting to buy a house (2-3yrs?)

I'm wanting to buy a house maybe within the next 2-3 years. But I'd have to take a loan out for it. Would that be worth it? Should I just stick to paying practically 2000 a month for rent? America is so crazy with rent, especially in Utah. I don't know what to do.
