Car totaled from rodent infestation
Post Body

2018 Toyota Corolla XLE in very good condition, 56k miles. Car was infested with mice nests and adjuster deemed it total loss. I was told to check it's value on nadaguides.com which I did and the buy side value appears to be $22,275. I also checked dealers online and I see prices anywhere from $19k to $22k. I'm waiting for total loss settlement person to call from insurance which should be tomorrow. I've never done this before but obviously I want to maximize my offer so I can actually replace this vehicle. It's our only car. Anything I should know going in? I hear insurance is required to cover sales tax in MA as well at 6.25%. So I'm thinking of starting my number at $23.75k and negotiating from there. Am I missing anything big....what should I be aware of in advance? Thanks!!!!
