Having parents as co-owner of bank account?

Post Body

Hello,

So my mother is the co-owner on my bank account and this means she can access it to see what Iā€™m spending and where.

Because of this, I am considering getting her removed by opening up and identical account with her not on it.

I use navy federal so she is the one who originally set it up.

Is there benefit to having a parent as a joint owner? Or some other reason why I may consider not doing this?
