I have a Wells Fargo checking account that I do not use. It currently has enough of a balance to meet the minimum requirement, and it's just sitting there.
I'm keeping it open because I might take out a personal loan in the future, and I figured if I shopped with Wells Fargo, this account might help me. It has had a positive balance (no overdrafts) for about 10 years.
Would it help me at all to keep this open, or should I just close it out?
P.S. I also have a Wells Fargo Platinum card open, with 2 years of perfect payment history.
