Hi everyone. I am a 23 year old grad student who’s about to start saving for retirement. I’ve been working since 14 but it’s always gone toward a car or college which my parents couldn’t help me with. I currently don’t have an employment match for a 401K I don’t think I even have that available though my job.
Is a Roth IRA the best route? Most likely while I finish my PhD I won’t be able to contribute more than 5-6k a year max. Also I plan to just start my own account through vanguard etc and not put it with a money manager. Is there a DIY place that you prefer in terms of ease of use or features? Are index funds the best bet just to kinda track the market? Thanks.
