Hi Reddit,
My mom is almost 60 and has very little savings in retirement. I put some of it in a Betterment Traditional IRA, but it seems to be decreasing in value.
The forecasts for 5 years from now seem to just be decreasing as well. I put in $4000, and the projected balance is $3,858 5 years from now.
The allocation is 65% stocks, which was what was recommended and it’s supposed to auto-adjust and portfolio strategy is Betterment Core.
What should I do? Should I change the allocation? Should I contact a financial advisor on her behalf? If so, where should I contact one? I’m a bit stressed because she gave me the responsibility of handling her life savings…
