I filed my taxes through Turbo Tax on April 3rd. The federal government kicked back my documents for review through TT. That night I corrected these errors and resubmitted, and according to TT it was accepted that same day (April 3rd, 2020). As I don't use a bank (I rely on my paycard from my work), I opted for a paper check in the mail. 3 weeks go by, and on the 24th TT tells me my refund was supposed to arrive that day (I'm not sure if that means it was *sent* that day or if it was supposed to be in my mailbox that day). I give it a couple days, and find the IRS "get refund status" and "check economic impact payment status" services (as my stimulus check hadn't arrived, either). I changed states late January 2020, so while it didn't impact my 2019 returns, I *did* clarify my new address.
I've checked each every single day since the 24th and according to the IRS, "Your tax return is still being processed" while the stimulus check "couldn't determine [my] eligibility at this time". I know for a fact I'm eligible for the $1200 stimulus check. I tried calling them and discovered they aren't even taking phone calls. It's been 6 weeks since I filed and 2 weeks since I expected my refund. I tried checking my refund by changing the total refund amount and the website recognized I had a different number and asked me to double check (verifying that it *knows* what documents I submitted).
What do I even do? Do I just sit here and wait patiently? I know the IRS straight-up refuses to handle its paper returns right now, but I e-filed, so does that impact my payment? Why is TT saying my refund was accepted while the IRS is still reviewing it? Should I be worried the IRS will keep reviewing my refund past the deadline? Should I be worried about my stimulus check?
