So I realize the markets are very bad right now...looked at my 401K and currently -25% rate of return. My company has halted it match program right now. I typically contribute 18% paycheck.
My 401K is set up to automatically invest in various stocks
VEIRX 60%, VMGMX 30%, VSmAX 10%
Large cap / mid cap / small cap
For now, do I completely stop the contribution to 401K and save up money, let it ride and buy these stocks when the price is super low, or change the contribution to buy bonds instead of stocks? I'm OK financially as I am in an essential position and I'm trying not to look at the market too much as it makes me cringe seeing the value go down. I realize the funds already invested are just going to have to ride it out and wait for market up turn. My question is what to do for future funds that will be invested in the coming months.
I am 30 and no where close to retirement.
