I was rear-ended by another driver at a stop sign intersection, my car was damaged (not gravely but considerably), other driver assumed all responsibility, my car went into the shop (it's still in the shop, scheduled to be ready next week), and I thought that was that. However, today I received a check from the insurance company for a couple of hundred dollars. The letter attached to the check says "after collection, this is your share of your deductible for loss -----".
Can somebody explain why I am getting this? I have never been involved in any collision before. Are there any strings attached?
