Hey PF - Former lurker here, out of the shadows and seeking some advice!
Ive been using Amazon/Synchrony card for the last few years without any issues until yesterday. I actually had high praise for the service until the very moment last night when i was shopping and saw my card got rejected. I Thought that it was odd because i had a $0 due, and never had a late payment. I opened up the chat service and was linked with an agent who basically said 'the account is locked because of 2 returns, i cant do anything about it, your only option is to re-apply for a new account'. This morning I called, got connected to an agent overseas whom basically said the same thing. I tried to probe for more information but we were having a communication barrier, so i thought to myself 'i will just make another account - this sucks but no big deal'
When i logged on to re-apply, it hit me! Not only was this my first/eldest card, but my credit utilization will tank. I finally reached my personal best credit score of 720 (thanks PF) - which is going to sink and also my points! I had $363.43 of points I had been stacking for a rainy day... intentionally not using them, just getting excited slowly watching it grow!
I called back and the 3rd person told me by "returns" it wasn't the 2 items i did indeed return - but was referring to returns of payment in which the payment was rejected. I looked at the 2 rejected payments that happened less than a month apart - and it was attempting to charge an old account i hardly ever use.
I would love to get my account re-instated and my precious points back! What are my options, can anyone please lend some advice/strategy?
