Received a bunch of stocks from relatives. Should I sell them and buy index funds or keep them?

Hi PF,
I recently received around ~10k from some relatives in the form of several "blue chip" stocks. They bought them for me when I was born, and so they have grown a lot over the last ~20 years. My question is, should I keep them or sell them and use the proceeds to buy index funds?
