Hey all,
I accepted an official job offer with a company, and after getting my initial Onboarding tasks complete, I sent an email to my current supervisors giving my notice(about a week and a half). Despite being in close quarters to them and having a good repertoire with them, no one has responded or acknowledged the notice. I find this strange, as all other email exchanges have been active afterwards. I went ahead and forwarded my notice over to HR and scheduled off boarding with them myself.
Was it bad that I handed my notice in an email? In your experience what does this usually mean? Should I follow up with one of them in person? I have a great work performance history with them so this is kind of surprising to me.
In hindsight I think I should've just gave them a "surprise I quit !" notice once I started my new job for extra security since both companies are at will employers. Oh well, any feedback is appreciated!
