Hi all,
Planning to leave Ameriprise after making the mistake of being with them for a few years (was suggested by close friends and unfortunately learned a valuable lesson about always researching. Sunk costs, etc, etc)
I've heard much about Vanguard, and while I'm fairly confident since my investment strategy is fairly simple, myself and my SO like the idea of having an advisor to call/visit. Family suggested Ed Jones, but I'm reading bad things about their fees as well.
Is there a happy medium somewhere, that has low fees (I don't want to be paying a flat annual rate for "advice" like with AmerP) but still has a presence where you can call or speak to an advisor? Vanguard seemed to only offer that above a certain amount invested.
Does anyone have experience with Fidelity or Charles Schwab? They both have offices in my area.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated since I don't want to move from one mire into another.
