Debts past statute of limitations

Post Body

A debt collector called seeking payment on a debt that is past the statute of limitations (IA, six years) for collections. In the voicemail, he says "for consideration of legal action, which may include the filings of a lawsuit or a complaint with the courts" Is this considered a legal threat under FDCPA? If so, would I be able to sue them for threatening legal action on a debt past its statute? Any help would be great here as far as how to deal with years old debt.
