My wife and I are 25, recently married, moved in together, and are combining or savings so that we can work towards our mutual goal of owning acreage. She wants property so she can have a barn, I want to build a shop large enough for my automotive projects.
We both hope to purchase the land and live there till the time we both die, we don't want to have to move again.
Or current home is a modest starter home that I purchased in early 2012, before meeting my wife. I do have PMI, which is frustrating. After the mortgage, the insurance, the PMI, and the taxes, we pay only $850 per month.
We both work 40 hours a week and make around $20 an hour. We have no car payments and no real debts aside from our humble home, and we believe can save a fairly decent amount up per month to get us closer to our goal.
My credit is fantastic and I maintain 3 active 12 month lines of credit. She has very little credit, but nothing hurting her credit.
Those who are knowledgeable, what input do you have to help us be successful?
