Student Loans Questions--getting negative information taken off my account
Post Body

So, I was dirt poor/stupid for quite a while. I allowed my student loans to go into default. Long story short, I consolidated my loans got them out of default. Now, all those little loans are still showing up on my credit score/report as being in default or arrears.

How do I go about having that removed from my credit report? Or, at least having it changed to showing them being consolidated so it doesn't look as bad on my report?

Am I best off just calling the US Dept of Education? Or, should I write them a letter? Thanks.
