So I have been at my job for about six years. It is a tipping and commission position, but I get a W-2. It’s also part time, but I end up making around 50 K a year from it. I also do voiceover on the side. The money I get from voiceover is not taxed. I usually try to put some away for when tax season comes to avoid any surprises. But a few years ago I opted just to have extra taxes taken out of my W-2 to avoid any surprises at the end of the year in case I did the math wrong and ended up owing. Since then, I’ve gotten married, have a child and also own a house. We also just created an LLC to run my voiceover stuff through and my husband‘s side gig. Do I need to change it to something else so that less are taken out? My voiceover income is not nearly as large(maybe an extra 7k a year?), so I worry I may be overpaying on taxes.
It’s been on my mind for a while, but I recently had a very lucrative week at work. I made about 3800 and was tax a little over 1000. Also, I’m in Texas. I apologize for any grammar mistakes, I’m using voice to text and feeding my six month old.
