I don't know if its just Texas, but checking my mail this afternoon I have offers from my credit cards (1 often used, 2 seldom used) offering a 24-month, 0% balance transfer. Now, it comes with a 3% balance fee, but I wonder what you all think.
I have the money to pay off my balance every month. But here's my thought... for a 3% interest fee, I could spread that across the next 24 months. Set up automatic payments... viola! Free cash that I could then sink into an IRA or HSA for the prior year tax return... and if you remember, the tax rate for most people is far above 3%.
Thoughts? I normally hate this sort of thing, but it just clicked this afternoon. Maybe it was my dog's idea. He barks a lot.
