I have 3x 401K's, two from past employers and one from my current. When I left my old employers I had no reason to consolidate and left them as they are. The accounts are easy enough to access and I always prefer to diversify assets when possible.
I did not think about it until recently when a friend told me I was crazy, basically that there are hidden maintenance fees that are charged once you are no longer currently employed at a company. A quick Google search that this sometimes happens but is not common.
Should I go through the trouble of combining my accounts?
