Need advise: Loan or credit card? I need money now!
Post Body

Question: I need at $300-$1,000 this week. Do I try to open another credit card or just get a loan? And if you would please respond why and through who, that would be awesome. Here is a little background: (SPOILER… I am bipolar and have horrible spending habits…. Trying to get them under control now… when I have relatively no money before I actually start making real money and losing that…. ) Here is my background

I have two bank accounts. One bank account has a checking account (Balance of -$100 as of this week) and a credit card in which I have reach my limit of $2,000. The other bank I just have a credit card through, and have reached my balance of $1,000. Long story short, I ended up maxing out both credit cards gambling and haven’t made enough money/ spend all my money I make and just pay the minimums each week. I know I’m fucking stupid and am paying ridiculous rates… I dont need a lecture on that, I have my dad for that. I JUST NEED MORE MONEY, NOW!

Other info: CREDIT SCORE: 619. The reason I need money is I am moving jobs and wont get another paycheck for about a month… So I will be having income soon, just not for a few more weeks.

Question: My first thought would be to go to a new bank and just open a credit card… what are my best options/ how much would they give me? Idk if they can see my other current accounts but I am guessing they can.

Or Do I try to get a loan through online website, apps, or a credit union of some sort. What kind of rates would I be looking at with my credit of 619?

Things to Consider: 1.) I am currently enrolled in an online school just taking one class…. Do you think I could get some sort of financial aid from them?? I am guessing no but worth a try. 2.) I will be starting graduate school in January, I know I will be able to get some money for personal expenses but does anyone know how early I could get that? I just got accepted.

Anything helps, I wish I could tip you in some way but ANYTHING HELPS!
