I will be getting a $4-5k Christmas bonus this year and wanted to thank my mom for all the help and money she has given me over the last few years as I’ve adjusted to life after college. I’ve decided I want to gift her $1000 of it, which would make a huge difference for her. After talking with her, she stated that she would like me to put it into a savings account or invest it in stocks so that she can pull from it later when she needs to as she does not have the best spending responsibility habits. What would y’all recommend as a decent way to store the money until she would like it later? I was thinking of holding onto it in my HYSA with a 4.3% apy or investing it into the S&P 500.
