Got a $10,000 bill for daycare—more than a year after our kid left.
Post Body

This daycare is terribly organized, which is one reason we left. We paid via check, often the checks were cashed several months after we sent them (example, paid in April, check not cashed until June). Apparently they never cashed our checks for two months, and then on top of that are claiming we owe them for months where our kid didn’t attend.

Because of this, we’re being hit with a huge expense this year that we didn’t budget for, and I can’t even take advantage of the reimbursement we qualify for through work since the date of service is long past.

My wife and I are grudgingly okay with paying those two months they didn’t cash, but isn’t there a statute of limitations on this?

Anyone have experience with this type of scenario? What did you do?
