Hello everyone. I thought I'd put up a post in here as I've been wanting a penpal to trade letters, postcards and other interesting stuff with. I've only had one penpal in my life, about 11 years ago now and I found it a very rewarding experience. I miss that feeling of seeing a letter come through the letter box, and of sending a hand-written letter to someone in a different part of the world (though I would very happily trade letters with someone in the same country as well!). I haven't really travelled as much as I'd like in my life, so I kind of think that this is a way of doing that, if that makes sense.
I am an ecologist living in the UK. I am of south asian ethnicity. I like science/nature and the outdoors in general and sports. I enjoy reading, though I'm trying to get back into reading novels as opposed to listening to audiobooks. But I love fantasy/fiction, and some sci-fi and crime. I do like to write fantasy (roleplays) as a bit of escapism. I am very introverted, I'd like to think I am a deep thinker, though perhaps overthinker is a more appropriate term. Id ;like to think I can talk about most subjects, given I have time to think on it!
But in general Id like to trade letters talking about our daily lives, stuff we get up to and stuff we think about. I promise that I will make my handwriting legible! Sometimes my thoughts come out in a jumble and my hand tries to write it all down at once!
As mentioned above, I'd be up for trading postcards and other stuff. One notion I had was that I'd quite like to recieve a leaf/flower from a tree or a plant that isn't native to these shores (and vice versa of course). Of course there aren't many leaves/flowers around at this time of year in the northern hemisphere. I don't know if there is a r/randomactsofleaves but that would be a cool idea!
So if you're interested then do let me know. Both myself and the Royal Mail will do our collective bests to respond to your letters asap!
