Hello! My pen name is Mai. I’m mostly looking for snail mail penpals because I enjoy writing and reading letters. I’m old school, and I prefer letters. However, people who prefer online emails/messages are welcome to reach out.

I’m looking for penpals because I want to make new, platonic friends around my age (20-28), and expand my worldview. Worldview as in, learning to see situations in a different light, or simply reading/listening to different life perspectives. I do prefer to give each other a quick introduction and/or conversation on Reddit before moving on to letters.

I’m more on the introverted side, but once I feel comfortable, I do open up. The funny part is, I’m a long writer, and I hope you enjoy reading pages of letters. Occasionally, I doodle and decorate my letters for fun. You do not have to doodle/decorate in return, because I’m already content with a letter.

I enjoy sharing my simple hobbies, talking about daily life, and having deep conversations. I’m not the most exciting person, because I enjoy living a simple life with my family. However, I do give genuine effort in getting to know a new friend, and I give time to writing thoughtful letters. If you enjoy sharing about these topics, then I think we’ll get along.

I’m not necessarily looking for a penpal with similar interests/hobbies, because I believe people with different interests/hobbies can still get along and learn from each other. Here are some of my hobbies: spending time with my family, reading manga and watching anime, watching crime shows, creating art, solving sudoku, folding origami, and volunteering in diverse communities.
