TL;DR: Nerd's nerd seeks comfort food recipes, memes and witty banter.
If you decide you want to read the long version, this is where I say 'hello'.
My name's Chris, and I'm a software engineer currently living in Pennsylvania. I figured I'd cast my line in the water because I've realized I have precious few friends that I actually talk to on a daily basis, and I'd like to rectify that.
Why the heck should you talk to me?
Well, first and foremost, because you want to! But beyond that, if you're into anything even remotely nerdy, I will probably have questions galore to keep the conversation going. I'd love to be able to find someone that I can talk to about both our day-to-day minutiae and also the really deep conversational topics, like how your favorite bedtime story influenced you as a person.
All I ask is that you have questions to ask back. :) Conversation should be a two-way street, don'tcha think?
A little bit more about me, in bullet-point form:
- I've been trying to get back to the gym: I fence once a week (Sundays) and try to work out at home the other six days.
- I'm a huge fan of lore and fantasy worlds. I'm currently re-building an entire one from scratch (I had a previous campaign and it went _really_ off the rails).
- I tend to be pretty quiet and reserved overall. If you ask me the right questions, though, I'll happily gush for hours as long as I know you're actually interested.
- I've been using this COVID time to slowly check things off my bucket list. I think I have about 20 more items to go and I'd love to know what's on your list so that I can help you check things off your list, too.
- I'm an avid reader. My favorite genres are fantasy and science fiction. I actually haven't been reading much recently (besides popcorn novels), and would love some new recommendations. What books are you currently reading?
- I absolutely love to cook! Favorites include goulash and nachos, but I'll (try to) make anything once! I actually found a recipe for mall-style teriyaki chicken. What are your favorite recipes?
- I'm an amateur game designer who's putting together a couple different games based on things that I enjoy, and I'm happy to talk about them in more depth if that's your thing.
- I recently got (back) into folk punk- current favorites is Local News Legend.
Looking forward to all those recipes and memes!
Best, Chris
