I have found two lovely penpals on this subreddit, which is why I’m trying again. I’ve been left hanging without a letter in return. I‘ll never know what happened to our correspondence! As such, I will not ghost you. This also means I’ll only be able to accept one or two penpals now, since I would not like to spread myself too thin.

What I’m looking for: WW or US penpal. There are benefits and challenges to either. Please only respond if you’re within the ages of 15-19. I think we could have similar interests or different ones. I love learning and researching. Someone who can be clear about how often they can write a letter. If you can consistently send a letter back the day after, kudos to you. If it takes you a week or even a month from when you receive one, that’s cool too. I just want to know ahead of time so I’m not surprised. It takes me about 1-10 days to draft, seal, and send mine.

About me: I’m fairly uncultured having only been to a few states, Mexico, and Canada. I love reading, especially collections of short stories, nonfiction, and documenta-sorta-thingies. I’m reading The Illustrated Man currently. I’d love to compare reader’s notes with someone else if you’d like. During school, I have less time for recreational reading, so I expect I’ll have a much slower reading rate.

I bake, cook, garden, craft, sew, knit, costume, and write casually. I try to keep up with Netflix shows my peers like, but I couldn’t sit through the first season of Riverdale. I spend most of my online time on reddit, but I’m considering cutting it out of my time allowances entirely since I don’t feel productive when I’m on it. I also write on Write the World, but I’d rather prefer to stay anonymous.

I love the old fashioned feeling of holding a letter in my hands. I write with all sorts of instruments so each letter will be a surprise. Normally, I just wait for posts around my age and comment on those, but I haven’t seen any recently. Here I am! I also tend to be unfortunately opinionated (but always willing to hear another side!) and occasionally monologue about my daily life.
