I came across this sub and thought it might be fun. Haven't actually conversed with someone over snail mail so that would be really cool. Email is ok too. Originally IM from upstate New York, but moved to Florida in a terrible lapse of judgement. But kind of stuck here for the time being. I'm recently going through a divorce that's not going too bad, but lost all the local friends I had made because they were friends through my ex. So I thought I'd try the whole penpal thing.

I'm pretty open to talking to anyone from anywhere. English is my primary language, however I used to be ok at reading and writing German when took it as a class in college. I think it would be fun to have a pen pal from another country and learn about each other's cultures, societies, and cuisines. I've heard sending care packages of candy and other snack foods is a thing and I enjoy trying new things.

I've spent most of the pandemic learning about mushroom and plant identification, and their uses, both edibility as well as possible health benefits. I felt this would be useful, because of my love of being in nature, hiking, camping and gardening. I recently even got back from a camping road trip to New York state and back.

I'm down to talk to anyone about anything really. Just been kind of lonely and in a tough situation with the divorce. Having a weekly or monthly letter to look forward too would be really great about now. It would be great to make a new friend as well!
