Cześć (that's HI in Polish)!

I am a sheep farmer from rural Poland. I live here with my husband, my dog, and my flock of dairy sheep! We have just finished lambing season, so we're quite enjoying our quarantine with our new little family members, but I'm hugely aware this is not the case for everyone. That's why I'm writing here - I hope that my stories and world can be a sort of escape for someone (maybe you, if you're still reading).

I'm hoping that someone can also help me out - Polish television is currently casting grade school lessons for kids stuck at home, propoganda instead of news, and Turkish soap operas. I don't have Netflix, so maybe instead of a getting to know a soap opera character, I can get to know a real person!

I'd like to exchange emails or chat for now, because the Polish Post is currently not delivering international mail, and later I'd like a postcard or snail mail letter at least once in a while. My postman does not deliver the mail to my house, he actually calls me and tells me where to meet him, so I'd like the trip out to be at least worthwhile, and not just for some flyer or bill. I think penpals are a nice way to show that the world isn't that big of a place, and that it's easy to connect with someone much different from yourself. That's comforting to me.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm a large animal veterinarian. I work mostly with cows, and am considering going back to school to earn a PhD related to small ruminants. I wouldn't say I'm scholarly, I just would like to contribute something useful with my thesis that could help a small farmer like me out someday.

I like agriculture and driving on nice and not-so-nice roads, and FOOD (that includes eating and cooking). I like the idea of reading and books, but unfortunately I mostly read work related magazines. I like Disco Polo music, and 70s and 80s Italian pop classics. On Fridays, I dance to early 00s hip hop. I'm learning to knit so I can make use of all the wool my sheep give - I can send you some socks!

I dislike politics - it's a very corrupt and shady situation in my country, and I turn off the TV when the newscast is on. I think politics are divisive and no good ever comes from conversations that turn that way. Same with religion - but my local priest comes and blesses my flock each year anyway, just for good measure. I myself can't even recite the Hail Mary, so my husband usually handles him when he comes.
