Hey everyone!

My name is Nick and I live in the East of England these days, having been brought up in the Midlands. I moved here to get away from everything after my ex girlfriend decided to dump me for a mentally unstable 40 year old married mother of two during COVID - you can never predict the hands life will deal you, trust me! Doing this has caused me to start afresh for the second time in my life. When you move, you drift away from friends you've made. To some extent, it's inevitable. Everyone's busy getting on with their lives, and good on them! But this is why I'm here; I want to find new people to connect with and ideally make lasting connections that don't just exist on the foundations of politeness and cordial interactions. They're easy to find and I could get that from the average old lady at the bus stop. As nice as I'm sure most Doreens, Margarets and Sylvias are, I think I'd lose the will to live if my best interactions of each day were with them!

So, how would I describe myself? Dry-humoured, sceptical and subversive, yet also a good listener who likes to help people where possible. I lean more towards introversion but definitely have extraverted tendencies when in a group I feel comfortable with. I'm always amazed by how sensitive I am too (not a brag in the slightest, I just always feel things more deeply than I expect to before they happen). I have a real love of people who themselves are sensitive, caring, and in tune with their feelings. I'm not averse to telling people I appreciate them and so on, as it's not something anybody - least of all men - are used to. I see this as an act of 'treat people how you wish to be treated'.

I do also have a cheeky side that likes to pounce on small things people say and make a joke out of them. Think 'that's what she said' jokes and you're not far off!

In my spare time, I love reading, writing, playing on my Switch, daydreaming, photography, music production, football, and I take an interest in quite a lot of other things too. I can assure you, we won't lack subjects to talk about.

Where you're from doesn't matter to me very much, but I have an ever so slight preference for Europeans. Even if you too are from the UK or Ireland, don't be shy! You're still exotic and interesting enough for me!
