my name is salem, im 28, two-spirit, and from Canada. I had a ton of penpals via email mail from ages 12-23 but fell off my letter writing streak after postsecondary education & adult life responsibilities.

i miss the abundance of letters in my mail box, especially fun mail that isn't bills or government letters. i am looking for more email friends and a few snail mail friends. I don't think I can afford having more than 6 at the moment but who knows. I'm not picky where you're from, just as long as there's communication or consistently involved (⁠•⁠ө⁠•⁠)

things i like— art: 15th to 19th century Renaissance paintings, romanticism, oil paintings and others. it's been fun to learn about art and the proper terminology that I never knew before. I don't paint much but my favourite is definitely watercolour. artists i like are Delacroix, Frida Kahlo, gustav klimt, Michelangelo, Marsha Whiddon, Junji Ito and many I can't remember. I do love comics and some manga. my favourites are W Juliet & Chainsaw Man. I haven't caught up on the new CSM release. books: Tanya Tagaq, Margaret Atwood, Eden Robinson, Stephen King, lots of poetry books, ehhh I can't remember most of them off the top of my head. Girl Interrupted & Killers Of Flower Moon are on my read list. music: Childish Gambino, Melanie Martinez, Cardi B, Taylor Swift, Alvvays, Paramore, The Beaches, Nicki Minaj, Tanya Tagaq, Meg & Dia, Ariana Grande, 21 Savage, Doja Cat, Hole, Sonic Youth, Bikini Kill, No Doubt. Tyler The Creator, Kali Uchis, Ari Lennox, and — New Jeans! I have so much. I can probably share my playlists w new friends if you're interested.
